Time is flying by in March, so much has been accomplished to get the park open, but we still have a lot of work to do. This past weekend we had all the supervisors for the park in for a meeting on guest service and what it means to each of us and our departments. I missed the first part since I was getting lunch ready for the group, but I did catch some of the cheering and team building that was going on. We have a great group in the park and I think it will be the best year they have ever seen here.
Lunch was very simple but good and we had a lot of help from the team top make sure everyone was served and the place cleaned up so we could all attend the afternoon meeting. Thanks to HR, Rides, LP and of course the foods team for helping out. With the park focusing on guest service this year we have the ability to have our team focus on the guest and the product we are serving to be the best park food service any where...take that D guys! We have a long way to go and still need to fill some of our key kitchen positions, but I feel good about it, and thats what counts.
Now back to our food and where we are today with the menu and execution of our vision. We have finalized all the product we are purchasing (except the chicken...having problems with the right supplier, but I will have that done by the end of the week) All our burgers are set and the Behemoth burger is going to be a Hugh success. The new cupcake area has been decided on and I have the recipes finalized, so starting April first I will be training our baker to make the best cupcakes possible. I hope she is ready for this, I pushed her to grow last year and this year will be so much more!!! I know she can handle it and I bet she will love it, her own area and a chance to put a mark on the park map with her name associated with it. it makes me happy. I also met with the manager of the Cupcake spot and he is excited about moving into the location and redoing the spot to make it work (with no cash mind you) I had to give in some where.......
The rest of this month is focused on the details of the menu, purchasing, training and execution of the plan, I will keep you a little more posted as we come down to the opening. So far with this weekend past I can say we are on the right track and we will be successful.
Take a look at some of the photos we did this past week for our new park menu boards. I will post more as we get them, and no we will not be serving a Behemoth Funnel cake, that was just for fun.
