Well here we are I survived another season and getting ready for another great season to come. In a couple of days I will shut off my computer and close the warehouse down till Jan 5th when I return to build a new menu, create some fine food, prepare all the bid sheets, test new menu items, make up the new signs and everything else involved in getting this park re-opened. I tell you I am looking forward to my time in Florida and the rest of my vacation, but I am also looking forward to blowing away this past year and putting another successful season together with our great new team.
During these last days I have a couple loose ends to wrap up and close out the huge freezer we have as well as make sure everything in the park is put away so no damage can happen during the cold winter we have here. I don't want to be sitting in the Florida sun thinking about the damage the snow could cause something left out. As I travel down the East Coast of the USA I will keep a log of my travels and post it on my Facebook page so all my friends can see how much fun I am having. I hope to find some new ideas while checking out Disney, Universal and the cruise line as well as all the fine restaurants between here and Miami.
When I return I will be helping Russ to find a couple new F&B managers for the park, we need 2 people with some experience running a good size operation that want to grow and learn about the hospitality business and the park business. We work long hours and have to deal with some challenging situations and people, but in the long run it is a great job and fun (most of the time) and like me you get to have a great time off at Christmas while all the other people in this business are slaving away at every corp party and group function.
