Yes there are only 4 days till we open for our Bank Days and just over a week till we open for general public. Not that there is any differencem there will be 1000's of people and everything open including the courtyard BBQ area and Planet Snoopy. Lots to look forward to and more coming as the summer goes on.
Over the past couple of weekends we have had several restaurants open for training and even a private group using the theatre for a dance comp. So we were able to try out Roadside Deli and test the new menu items. I was very happy to say we were able to keep up to the lines of staff and they were very happy with the food. The timing issues were worked out and we narrowed the selection of wing sauces to startm so there is the simple choice of Hot, BBQ or Honey Garlic. The new Veal Sandwich will be a big hit, the biggest complaint we have had so far is that the sandwich is to big! I love that type of complaint.
We also spent some time in the funnel cake places as well as Hot Potato, these are going to be great again and the staff are outgoing, eagar and ready to work. Lets hope we can keep this up. The best thing so far for me was to see that during training the managers and supervisors have picked up on the changes to the food and are willing to help make this a successful year! We have a good team and all of us are putting everything we can into making this the best season ever.
One of the changes happening this year has everyone excited and sad at the same time, yes I am sad to see Scooby go, but really excited to see Snoopy. So in Planet Snoopy we have done a few changes to improve speed and selection. At our pizza places we took out the Hawaiian Pizza but opened up more space at Snoopy Pizza. Something we need in the park is more Halal food, so we have changed the hot dog at Snoopys Supper Time (Grannies) this will always be a Halal Hot Dog, 100% chciken and very tasty.
The new sandwich bar at Backlot will be well received and I hope I can keep the cooks at the pasta bar animated and engaging, this is a chance for them to entertain guests. We decided to go with a 3 cheese sandwich served on Herb Foccacia, Turkey and Havarti on a Panini Roll and an Italian Baquette with pepper salami, tomato, boccacini and basil. mmmmmmmmmm
Now we have to get ready for a fun summer and keep me posted when you are in the park and visit our restaurants.
