Well made it through another season! We have just wrapped up the final clean up, sent the last of the product back, cleared space for nes product, finished the budgets and every one is starting holidays soon. Hard to believe the season went by so fast and soon the park will be coverec in snow.
Right now you must wonder what I do once the park closes, well after the budgets are submi tted next week I am on vacation, I have some work to do around the house that will keep me busy for a couple weeks, Painting, Plumbing all that DIY stuff that you can't do during the season and to lazy to do once you get 2 days off. Not that I am lazy, I just can't commit to doing a 4 day job in two weekends. But now I am ready all I have to do is commit to a paint colour for the kitchen.......so tough! after I am finished with my DIY I have to head back to work for a couple of days, we are heading to Sandusky Ohio, the home of Cedar Point and our corporate owners Cedar Fair. While there we meet all the other executives from the parks in North America, try out new food items, talk about our success and near misses and what we can do as a company to improve next year. Should be good, but Sandusky in the middle of December can be cold I hear. Once we are done there I head back home for a night then down to Baltimore, where I board the Mercury cruise ship for 10 days to the Bahamas. I am so looking forward to sun and relaxation on the cruise ship. Also here is a great chance to look for new menu ideas for next summer. Whenever you get out of your local area always look at what people are eating, what they are buying and what could translate wel into a park enviroment. Makes travel fun when you combine it with researchm keeps you on your toes. I'll let you know if there is anything exciting on these trips.
Once back from the cruis I have to many options to think about right now, some are fun, some involve family, others are just boring. But whichever one I choose it will be a great addition to an already terrific holiday. Then I head back to work January 5th and start the whole process all over again. Hiring, training, menu development, tasting, testing and everything in between. If you have any ideas of food you want to see in the park let me know and maybe one day we will have the best food in North America as rated by the readers of Fun World, but I would hate to take it away from little Christmas village or whatever the name is of the park that always wins. Lets find out how to win next year and you can all help me by voting for our park, because I am very proud of the food we serve and the people that work here.
Thanks everyone and have a great Winter!
